Today i am gonna smile all day.
I did not decide this when i woke up. I was on a morning stroll on the road when i saw a polio vaccination drive being undertaken at the doorsteps of a hospital in Rahulnagar, the place i live in. A few steps away there is a road to a basti, where at the start of this road there is a shop. The stair way to the shop is bound by cement verandas on both the sides. On one of the sides on a veranda there was an elderly woman sitting with a child that i assumed to be her grandson. Oblivious as she seemed she did not know about the drive (or the significance of such drives). So obviously she was sitting there busying the child with nothingness. When all of a sudden i saw a small girl in pink with a bright smile on her face. she must be around ten years old. I assumed her smiling as if she was unusually happy about something, or so i could guess from the side view of her's i managed to have. She was calling the old woman. She was waving or pointing at something . It did not take me much time to realize that she was asking the old woman to take the child to the vaccination center. Then the mere ask transformed into insistence, from insistence to persisting frenzy plead. Then fed up of the old woman's head wagging she took the onus upon herself. She picked up the child with some effort, more than what a girl would normally need. I got closer, wondering. She by now had hoisted the healthy boy on her slender hips. Then i saw it, and was overwhelmed by what i saw. It was her left arm that was inexplicably smaller and a lot more tender as compared to her right. The side of her's that i could not see earlier, had much to be seen in it. She suffered from polio herself. But happy she was to make the vaccine available to that child that i can safely presume to be her brother. Her stride was willful, her eyes were wishful. I now can understand what it was that overwhelmed me. It was the human spirit, of the pride that i feel in belonging to same species that she belongs to. I decided then that i would smile all day, as a tribute to this girl

.....er....I didn't ask her her name...
..now i am laughing at myself for that.

if you fall in love.......

I wonder
if
if you fall in love with a woman's gait, you will love her for another couple of decades only, for, by then she would not have the same grace.
if you fall in love with a woman's lips, she will hold your attention every breath you spend with her for the many a decades until she grows old.
if you fall in love with a woman's eyes you shall love her for the entire life, for they will remain the same.
if you fall in love with a woman's soul, you shall love her not only for the entire life but also the life after that and after that and after that....that is what we mean by loving forever...and what's more?..when you love her soul you will love her eyes, lips , gait and her entire self with no differentiation of one kind from the other...

The lightning rod.

Once a warrior from Sparta returned home after the war with the Persians.Being one of the best he had fought the fiercest battalion of the Persians. He was said to have used bones of wild animals to make weapons to kill the Persians after his original weapons had worn out. He was invited to Athens where he was awarded the best warrior to have stuck to the fight when the toughest would have given up.
The lords and generals in the parliament asked " after having done what you have done..how do you feel". To this he answered "I feel ..nothing"."No really you have to tell us, it is not a mere achievement, how do you feel?""I feel nothing...nothing really"
"how can you feel nothing?". "After all you are in a position one would want to be ever since a spartan is born..this glory ...this honor...this acknowledgment of your excellent endurability..consummation of your existence"
The spartan with a smile on his face said" Once there was a Heavy storm during the war.The sea nearby was roaring and the sky was delivering bolts of lightning. The weather was so heavy that it had paralyzed the war.
There was a lightning rod in the center of our tent. We knew what it was going through. We were scattered to the boundaries of the tent.
After the storm abated a bit, I went up to the rod and asked what it feels like.
It said ........
"I feel nothing""

ONE LINERS

if u like to have it short and sweet:---------

The only original sin:-absence of intent

to say 'where wealth accumulates men decay' is to say 'where books accumulate brains decay'

If one loves himself more having met u than earlier then that one is sure to love u

everyone comes with an unlimited capacity to be happy. It is doubting this fact that makes sorrow possible

Blood spilled in a war is the measure of bravery and the blood saved from being spilled is the measure of intelligence

Noah might build an ark for all the animals but the humans will still have to swim their way

There is always an opportunity or an opportunity to make one

Intelligence be measured not by the answers you give but by the questions you ask

If you cant assert it ,you have no such right

'Soon' is always later than 'Now'
